Union House Apartments is located on Main Street in Lykens, Pennsylvania. The community offers five studios, 17 one-bedroom and six two-bedroom apartments.
The monthly rent includes all utilities. This is made possible by financing and assistance from federal, state and local government programs, which allows us to provide beautiful and affordable homes to those who qualify.
Each apartment is equipped with many modern amenities such as energy star appliances, a fitness center and community room for residents to use. A portion of the apartments are handicapped accessible, including apartments that are adapted for individuals with hearing and/or visual impairments.

Historical Information
The construction of the former hotel at 600 Main Street completed in 1926 was conceived by the leading citizens of the borough as an economic investment that would help keep Lykens a prosperous community and pushed toward development and financing through the Hockenbury System. The building operated as a hotel through the 1970’s, then used as a living facility for elderly before vacancy in the mid 1990’s. Hotel Lykens was determined eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.
The former Israel Building was constructed in 1904 as a commercial building and served as a community anchor in the center of Lykens by providing multiple functions such as retail stores, professional offices, a meeting room, residential and support spaces. This building was determined eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
