A Historic Building
Edward B. Green & Sons, an architectural firm in Buffalo, designed this historic building. The firm was well known in the early 1900s and designed many city buildings that still exist today. Kibler High School was constructed in 1927 and named for the then president of the school board. The school closed its doors in 1983 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. The Western New York Veterans Housing Coalition renovated the building in 2000, maintaining the building's integrity through historical adaptive reuse guidelines, and converted it into a senior housing community. Their work won the "Excellence in Historic Preservation" award from the Preservation League of New York State.
