Our Team

Megan joined Home Leasing in 2010 and represents the third generation of the Nelson Leenhouts family. Megan serves as Chief Executive Officer where she provides executive leadership and oversees the day-to-day operations of the company. Megan has a strong and strategic network of non-profit partners, public and private financing partners, syndicators, and conventional lenders. She has experience financing projects with various programs such as 9% LIHTC, 4% tax-exempt bonds, SLIHTC, State and Federal Historic Credits, HOME funds, subsidy-only financing, FHLBNY, HHAP, as well as conventional loan products.

Prior to joining Home Leasing, Megan worked in social services where the need for affordable and supportive housing was all too evident.  Megan has served in various positions at Home Leasing during her tenure, beginning on the property management team and later transitioning to development in 2015 as a Development Manager. She took on the role of Vice President of Development in 2021, where she led her team in seeking new projects, engaging municipalities and development partners, determining financing and feasibility, completing funding applications, monitoring construction, and aiding in the transition of new projects from development to property management. In January 2025, Megan took on the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Megan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Child Development and a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University. Megan has received certificates in tax credit compliance including Tax Credit Specialist, Advance Occupancy Specialist and Blended Occupancy Specialist. She sits on the Advisory Board of Spiritus Christi Prison Outreach.
