Elmer Gardens is the preservation and adaptive reuse of the former Elmer Avenue Elementary School in Schenectady, NY to create 51 apartments for seniors (8 studios, 40 one-bedrooms, and 3 two-bedrooms). Elmer Gardens continues the partnership between Home Leasing and Better Neighborhoods, Inc. to revitalize the Eastern Avenue corridor that began with the two-site Renaissance Square, a 55-unit affordable housing development, including the adaptive reuse and preservation of the St. Mary’s School. 

The project features amenities such as an on-site laundry facility, a community room, a bike rack, a garden patio, a fitness room, a pet washing station, bike storage, a central elevator, and 25 designated parking spaces.
