Batavia Gardens will be the new construction of a four-story, generally rectangular building to create 55 apartments comprised of studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, a community room, fitness center, management offices, service provider offices and ancillary spaces. It will be approximately 49,046 square feet of wood-frame construction with masonry fire walls and a centrally-located elevator.
The site will accommodate required parking, a fenced outdoor play area for children, and as the community will be smoke-free, the site will have a designated smoking station on a handicap accessible pathway. Each apartment will have a private porch or a balcony and ample storage. To encourage alternative transportation, the building will include secure, indoor bike storage for the residents.
The buildings will each have interior corridors with secure access at building entrances. Six of the units will be fully adaptable for persons with mobility impairments and three separate units will be equipped for persons with audio or visual impairments. All units will be visitable and adaptable.
Energy efficiency and Green Building design requirements will be incorporated throughout the buildings including Energy Star appliances and fixtures.
